The fancy candle

So, any child's first birthday is definitely most memorable for the parents and it was no different in our case. My little girlie turned one last week and it will be a day that is not going to be forgotten in a hurry. Our fancy fondant baby-princess themed birthday cake couldn't be delivered due to the bandh. Instead we had to settle with a routine butter cream cake from Sweet Chariot that was thankfully available even though it was a last-minute dash to the bakery.

We did have a fancy candle though that took us completely by surprise. It behaved less like a candle and more like a firework! The husband's niece was able to get some pictures while the show lasted.

And, after the candle burned out we lit another regular candle to get on with the usual blowing-it-off tradition. All in all it was a fun day-one on which the candle certainly took the cake!
